I'm pissed at my car repair place. I have been taking my car to them for nearly 15 years. They know my name and vehicle history by heart.

So my muffler breaks off Tues night and I drop it off for them to look at it yesterday morning. I get a call: "You need a new muffler system from the manifold back, that'll be $998.00 " WTF?!?!? THis car is a 92 no way I'm putting a thousand dollar muffler in it! So I remember the guys at the little shop who fixed a muffler pipe for me a couple years back and I bring the car to them. They put it on the lift and show me that all i need is a muffler and a flex pipe. Sure there's some rust here and there but nothing to get excited about on a car with 157K miles. They had it done in two hours for $285.00

Looks like I have a new service place. I am most angry that my ususal place would try to rip me off like that, I've spent thousands there in the last 15 years, I've brought my car, my ex's car, I've referred numerous people to them, I feel betrayed.
